Monthly menu planning will keep you on track as you go into the busy holiday season. Here is our November menu plan for five – 2 adults and 3 children.
Monthly menu planning becomes even more important as we move into the busy holiday season. Not only do we have all of the usual Thanksgiving festivities that take place in November, but we also have my son’s birthday, father-in-laws birthday, and a Boy Scout camping trip that are taking over many of our weekends. This year seems busier than years past because all 3 children are involved in activities now too, so anything I can do to cut back and possibly prevent the last minute plans for carry out is well worth it in my book.
Breafast & Lunch
Our breakfast and lunch plans are pretty consistent throughout the year. Breakfast in the fall usually means oatmeal with applesauce or dried fruits & nuts, yogurt, or the occasional cereal bar. Lunches are usually sandwiches or leftovers. Our favorite sandwiches are peanut butter & jelly, grilled cheese with pepperoni (it tastes like pizza), and apple butter on cinnamon raisin bread. We include fruits, cheese, nuts, and crackers in our regular line up of snacks and mealtime add-ons.
Dinner is where we get to have a lot of variety, but it can be challenging with Cub Scouts, Boy Scouts, and Girl Scouts taking over many of our evenings. For our busy nights, we plan easier meals that can get us out the door on time.
