This post is sponsored by IXL. I received compensation in exchange for my honest review. All opinions are my own.

Last year was hectic for our homeschool. Between medical appointments, Scout activities, swim lessons, trying to maintain a household, and just the ups and downs of life, I worried that my kids might have gaps in their learning—especially in math. That’s when we started using IXL, and it’s been a game-changer.

What I love most is the Real-Time Diagnostic tool. In just a short session, IXL pinpoints exactly where my kids are thriving and where they need extra practice. No more guessing, no more reteaching everything “just in case.” We can focus on the concepts that matter most before moving forward, and that has made all the difference in our homeschool.

Michael wasn’t thrilled about having to take the diagnostic now, since we were still on summer break, but after we discussed how this would give me the information I need to better plan the year, he was more agreeable about sitting down and taking the math assessment.

I love that I now know which math topics we need to revisit. The next time Michael logs onto IXL, those lessons will be the first ones offered for him to practice. We can start closing those gaps and get ready to move on to a successful year of 7th-grade math.

What is even better is that we can select the math curriculum we are using this year from a selection on their site, and IXL will present the supplemental lessons in the same order to go hand in hand with the textbook! I don’t have to collate each lesson to an online resource. It will all be done for me!

Why We Chose IXL as Part of Our Homeschool Curriculum

IXL isn’t just another app—it’s a comprehensive K–12 homeschool learning platform that truly grows with your child. With the IXL Family Membership: Core Subjects (Yearly Plan), your kids get access to:

  • Math – From Pre-K all the way through Calculus
  • Language Arts – Pre-K through 12th grade
  • Science – Kindergarten to Chemistry
  • Social Studies – Kindergarten through Civics & Government

(And if your kids are interested in Spanish, you can add that on as an upgrade too!)

Here’s why I think IXL is one of the best homeschool resources available:

  • Diagnostic-driven learning – Real-time diagnostics show you exactly where your child is, so you know what skills to revisit and what they’re ready to tackle next.
  • Massive skill library – With over 17,000 interactive skills, 1,300+ video tutorials, and 120+ educational games, there’s always something new to explore.
  • Engaging and fun – My son actually enjoys earning awards and playing game-style practice, which keeps him motivated without me nagging.
  • Trusted by parents and teachers – Over 17 million students have answered more than 160 billion questions on IXL. That’s a lot of learning!
  • Learn anywhere – Whether we’re at home on the computer or on the go with a tablet, IXL works seamlessly so my kids can keep up with their learning. Guess what they will be doing while I am running the Troop 3 Committee Meetings this fall?!

Special Discount for Families
