No matter what your grocery budget, its always nice to have a little money left over. That's your payment for being a savvy shopper!

I consider myself a Savvy Couponer, not an Extreme Couponer. It was never my intention to get all of my groceries for free.  I am quite happy to save 40-60% each week, but don’t get me wrong, when I can save more it is wonderful!

I started couponing more than 30 years ago when I would go grocery shopping with my mom. From there, it evolved into couponing for my husband and me for the items we needed on a weekly basis.  Once we threw a few kids into the mix, that just wouldn’t do!  I had to be mindful of my grocery spending and building a pantry for our family.  With only one income, it was my responsibility to take that money and stretch it as far as possible.

Grocery shopping became a game.  I live in an area with more than 7 big name grocery stores all within a 20-minute drive, and once you add in the big box stores and drugstores, it was game on for finding the best deals!

My favorite way to get coupons is by printing them myself.  Coupons are the only money you can legally print at home!  My next favorite way to save is through various smartphone apps.  Anything that doesn’t require to pick up a Sunday newspaper is a win in my book.  Below are my favorite resources.
