As I sit down to work on the meal plan for this week, I realized its already Monday evening. This week is all mixed up. Holiday week’s tend to do that to me.
This week our family is implementing some new routines to help us get dinner on the table and break our 15 year bad habit of relying on carry out and convenience foods. As I sit here this evening, I’m thinking about what we already have in the house ready to go that will make this week’s meals come together easier. We have a lot of easy to grab breakfast foods on hand. I’m going to rely on those this week instead of making a hot breakfast each day so that I can focus my energies on general meal prep and getting balanced dinners on the table through out the week.
Weekly Meal Plan
Breakfasts: French toast sticks, fruit smoothies, apple butter sandwiches
Lunches: Grilled cheese, Peanut Butter & Jelly, leftovers
- Tuesday – BLTs, veggies & ranch
- Wednesday – Chicken Kabobs, Rice
- Thursday – Steak, Potatoes, Veg
- Friday – Pork Chops, Mashed Potatoes, Veg
- Saturday – Ham, Potatoes, Veg
- Sunday – leftovers
Its shaping up to be a good week. I’m hoping to stick with the plan, and by having the whole family help with meal prep and cleaning up, dinnertime should be a lot more enjoyable and feel less like a chore.
