Its been a while since I’ve checked in with my frugal living accomplishments. Its not because I stopped living frugally. Rather, because of burning out I just hadn’t had the time to write. I decided to ease back in to my routine slowly, and today that means I’m back to some quality time with my laptop and writing.
Last Week’s Frugal Accomplishments: 9/18-9/24
Several weeks ago, I tripped over my sewing box and broke the handle and the hinge. There was nothing I could do to fix it, so I knew I had to purchase a new one. I had been waiting, and then I got a 60% off coupon for Joann’s! Perfect timing! I was able to purchase a much larger sewing box and a thread caddy for under $30!
Joann Fabrics also made a donation to our Girl Scout service unit. I was able to get a lot of fake flowers and several other craft supplies for our Girl Scout troop for free.
I cleared out the front garden beds. There was a “volunteer” tomato plant that started growing in one of the back gardens, so I transferred it to the front yard. Maybe, just maybe, we will get a few tomatoes before the winter comes.
We harvested 4 cantaloupes from my son’s garden. They are sweet, and delicious.
I used some money I got as a birthday gift to get my hair cut for the first time in almost a year.
We registered for several field trips through our school, Commonwealth Charter Academy (CCA). These trips will supplement the learning my older children are doing in class, and will only cost us gas and parking since this is our 3rd consecutive year with the school (those who are in their first or second year with the school get 50% off all paid trips).
We ate dinner at home each and every night this past week, even with all of the evening activities and errands we needed to get through.
The strap on my laptop bag had come completely unstitched from the bag. I couldn’t find another bag that I liked, so I mended it by hand. Good as
