I love everything about the fair! Even before we had kids, Steve and I would go to the fair each August. For the last 4 years, I have competed in the Middletown Grange Fair showing off my canning and baking skills, hoping for a ribbon.
Unfortunately, over the last few months, we have been so absolutely swamped that I didn’t get any entries together for this year. Part of me is really upset I didn’t enter anything, but the other part of me says that this means I can totally focus on enjoying my family and try again next summer. I listen to the second part more often.
So, even though I chose not to compete in the fair this year, I couldn’t skip it. That just would not do!
We always go to the fair on opening day. It is our tradition. Steve took off of work, and this afternoon we loaded up the car and drove to the Middletown Grange Fair. We had a wonderful afternoon seeing the farm animals, chatting with the children in the 4-H program, speaking with exhibitors & vendors, and then checking out the home products and gardening pavilions. We saw so many things and learned a lot through out the afternoon.
Are you heading to the Middletown Grange Fair this weekend? The fair runs Wednesday, August 16 through Sunday, August 20. Cost is $10 per car Wednesday-Saturday, and $5 on Sunday. For a full schedule of events, please visit their website.
