Meal planning doesn’t have to be a one person job – get the family involved! On Saturday, after dinner, my family and I planned out the entire dinner menu for the upcoming week. Each person got to suggest one entree, and I made my list. With five of us in the family, and I typically plan 5 dinners, this was the easiest meal plan yet!
This week we also have 2 meatless meals on the menu because of Ash Wednesday and the first Friday of Lent. While every family has different Lenten traditions, or may choose meatless meals for a variety of reasons, this is one way we can change up our menu, have a different variety, and maybe even save a few bucks along the way.
THIS WEEK’S MEAL PLAN: FEBRUARY 8-14
Eggs & Toast
Oatmeal with Applesauce or Dried Fruits & Nuts
English Muffin Pizzas
Peanut Butter & Jelly Sandwiches
Homemade Hummus with Pita & Carrots, Raisins, Nuts
Grilled Cheese Sandwiches & Soup
Meatloaf, Roasted Potatoes, Corn
Bacon Wrapped Chicken, Chicken Rice, Salad
Foil Packet Dinners
Ginger Soy Pork Chops, Steamed Rice, Stir Fry Veggies
Stuffed Shells, Salad, Garlic Bread
The children are on a dessert kick and want to learn how to bake. The more they flip through my cookbooks, the longer the list of treats they want to bake gets. We will see what they come up with through out the week.
Apples, Oranges, Bananas
